Comments

What did you like best in the class?
I really liked the unit about building our own website as well as the independence provided to work on our own most of the time.

What was your favorite project (song project, capstone website, how to video, team video)?
My favorite project is the team video because we got to work in a group and really develop our trailer.

What can I improve for the next class?
I think the class is fine as is! :)

Planning Out My Career Website

  1. What is your website about?
    • My website will be about the career of a video game designer.
  2. What would you like to present?
    • I'd like to present resources as far as the top colleges for this path as well as internships/job opportunities available to gain experience. I could also include scholarships related to the career and top companies to aim to work for.
  3. How would you like to present it?
    • I'd like to present it by adding in more visuals than text, possible incorporating a video game environment.

Sight: Robot Genius & Thoughts on Webdesign

With a snapshot into a possible and rather scary future, I'm rather intrigued and fascinated with the concept the college students were able to capture in this vimeo video. At first, it seemed very interested and amazing that the mind could be intertwined with so much technology to function practically robot-like while still maintaining humanistic characteristics like emotions and needs. However, at the end, it seemed technology has been a key player in feeding the wrong kind of people's satisfaction. Too much technology in the wrong hands is always a bad thing and this video serves as an interesting perspective.

Webdesign so far has been the best these past few weeks as I am getting a review on html and css. I am learning new things every day and find myself motivated to work and improve my album website. I find a passion for this and would love to make a career out of it. I like seeing how nonsensical words can turn into a beautiful picture and one change could completely turn it.

Website Designs: Good & Bad

1. Good Website Design
  •  Navigation tabs are clean and easy to see.
  • Search Engine text field is clear and near center
  • News and events are located at the bottom in a sleek banner.
  • Background doesn't interfere with text and shows interesting facts/photo

2. Good Website Design
  • Information needed is presented readily
  • Color scheme is consistent
  • Text is clear and easily read
  • Background is simple and has no distractions
3. Bad Website Design
  • Page has too many links
  • Too busy
  • Some elements are not aligned
4. Bad Website Design
  • Background is distracting and makes the text harder to read
  • Webpages linked are long and contain too much information that can be condensed.
